Colours Chosen: Inspired by the following new book

If any colours jar you, let me know and I'll do my best to change them. I wish I could use softer colours here and there, but alas the choices are few.

I've set up a list of resource links for us. If it lets you, add more links, just go into Layout. If it doesn't, then let me know and I'll link it up.

  1. I like it, the colours are great. I don't know about that other site you found with more colour choices, seems like a lot of thinking. . . let's just get this going and we can be ready when the materials arrive.

  2. For your samples you need to use the same wool so all your samples have the same look. A nice white or cream is good becuause it allows you to easily see your stitches. DK is a good weight, I remember using size 4mm needles. Nothing fancy in the yarn department.

  3. Yeah, I'm thinking wool, too. I like working with worsted weight. However, DK would make a smaller sample and easier to slip into one of those plastic sheet thingies.
For fifteen samples, how much yarn do you think is needed? Say, if I buy two skeins would that be enough?
I'm looking forward to reading the information when it arrives in the mail.
Do they send you yarn? What are the materials? I thought the package they send would just be instructions.

  4. www.elann.com has some great yarns, the one that I am thinking of is this:
    http://www.elann.com/productdisp.asp?NAME=elann%2Ecom+Undyed+Superwash+Merino&Season=&Company=&Cat=Bargains&ProductType=5&OrderBy=+Order+By+Bargain+Desc&Count=97
Sorry for the long link. I will order it an see if it's the right thing. . . will call you tonight.
And no, they don't send the yarn or materials, just instructions which is why you (I) really need need another person to process this with, thanks for initiating this; I'd never had done it on my own, but it more ways than one, it's something I NEED to do.
